Windows 8 Developer Preview was released recently this week by Microsoft for free download. Lot of people downloaded Windows 8 and started using it. This article gives some details of Windows 8 keyboard shortcuts.

Windows 8 Keyboard Shortcuts

Microsoft Windows 8 BUILD conference was held at Anaheim, California from 13th September,2011 to 16th September,2011. The first Windows 8 tablet was unveiled on the first day of the conference and the Windows 8 Developer Preview was released by Microsoft for free download by anyone in the world to try the features of Windows 8.

Lot of people have downloaded and installed the Windows 8 Developer Preview and started using it now.

In this article, I am going to share some of keyboard shortcuts of Windows 8 so that they may be helpful to you and make your life easier with Windows 8 operating system. The Windows 8 keyboard shortcuts are listed below.

Windows Logo key + Y -> Temporarily peek at the Desktop
Windows Logo key + O -> Locks the device orientation
Windows Logo key + V -> Cycles through toasts
Windows Logo key + Shift + V -> Cycles through toasts in reverse order
Windows Logo key + Spacebar -> Switch input language and keyboard layout
Windows Logo key + Enter -> Launches the Narrator
Windows Logo key + PgUp -> Moves tiles to the left
Windows Logo key + PgDn -> Moves tiles to the right
Windows Logo key + F -> Opens the File search application
Windows Logo key + C -> Opens Charms Bar
Windows Logo key + I -> Brings up the Settings Charm
Windows Logo key + K -> Opens Connect Charm
Windows Logo key + H -> Opens Share Charm
Windows Logo key + Q -> Opens Search Pane
Windows Logo key + W -> Opens Settings Search Application
Windows Logo key + Z -> Opens App bar
Windows Logo key + R -> Brings up the Run prompt
Windows Logo key + E -> Invokes the Windows explorer
Windows Logo key + L -> Locks the PC
Windows Logo key + P -> Pulls up multi monitor settings
Windows Logo key + D -> Takes you to the desktop
Windows Logo key + Y -> Makes all the open windows transparent so that you can see the desktop beneath
Windows Logo key + X -> Shows the Windows mobility center
Left-click on the Start screen brings up options to unpin, resize and uninstall apps
Right-click brings up contextual menus in a full screen app
Ctrl-Alt-Delete opens a screen with options to shut down, switch users, log off or quickly open the Task Manager
